Mexican tenor Eleazar Rodríguez is an artist of remarkable stylistic breadth, celebrated for his refined vocal technique, lyrical warmth, and commanding stage presence. With a distinguished career spanning over 15 years, he has established himself as a versatile leading tenor equally at home in the Bel Canto, Mozartian, and contemporary repertoires.


Born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, Rodríguez’s exceptional promise was recognized early by the Sociedad Internacional de Valores de Arte Mexicano (S.I.V.A.M.), where he was a Plácido Domingo scholarship holder. A prize winner of the prestigious XXII. Concurso Nacional de Canto Carlo Morelli in Mexico City, he refined his craft in the United States as a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a participant in the renowned Merola Opera Program (’09 & ’10) at the San Francisco Opera.

From 2011 to 2024, Rodríguez was a core member of the soloist ensemble at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. During this long-standing tenure, he cultivated a massive and diverse repertoire, performing dozens of leading roles ranging from the elegance of Mozart’s leading tenor roles to the dramatic demands of Donizetti, Puccini, Verdi and Richard Strauss. 

This rigorous ensemble experience honed his ability to transition seamlessly between complex vocal styles, earning him a reputation as a reliable and insightful musical colleague. 


Beyond his ensemble work, Rodríguez maintains a robust international career.

His guest engagements have taken him to major houses, including the Opernhaus Zürich, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Staatsoper Hamburg, English National Opera, Opera North, Göteborg Opera, and the Michigan Opera Theater as well as Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Hannover, Staatstheater Saarbrücken, Luzerner Theater, Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, Stadttheater Giessen, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Theater Kiel and Oper Graz.


He is frequently praised by critics for his stamina, clear diction, and his ability to bring emotional intensity to both comic and tragic roles.
